Barbara has an amazing talent of altering gowns! She was inspired at an adolescent age to make clothing for her family with guidance from her mother. She continued to study fashion design at Prince Tech in Hartford. She began working for the legendary Winshaw’s Bridal in Hartford; then the tailoring department at G. Fox (merged with Filene’s; and finally merged with Macy’s) for 17 ½ years. Overall, she’s been working with bridal and special occasion gowns for 30 years. Over the years, Barbara has altered 1,000’s of dresses ensuring just the right fit for many happy clients.       She has the unique talent to work with most fabrics including silks & intricate lace. She also has experience in pattern making. Corrine finds her to be both confident and knowledgeable – both traits are essential in handling a ‘once in a lifetime’ gown.
